Thunderstorms, Tornadoes & Training - CAMP-College
Thunderstorms, tornadoes and training is just a little of what took place in College Park, Maryland when over twenty of the camping industry’s leaders meet at CAMP-College.
On April 28ththe Washington D.C. area was threatened by thunderstorms and two tornadoes but it didn’t stop the dedicated members of camp from attending the third CAMP-College event. CAMP is the Campground Association Management Professionals and is made up of many of the executive directors, staff and board members for the various state, regional and national camping associations. On April 27thCAMP had their annual meeting and then on April 28thEvergreen USA hosted CAMP-College for all of the CAMP members.
All of the sessions were held at the very handsome conference center of Cherry Hill Park in College Park, Maryland. In the morning session attendees listened to Ed Golden of Skillpath explain how to design more professional looking newsletters, brochure and guides. In the afternoon session attendees worked with Nancy Frede of Frede Enterprises on ways to increase non-dues revenues for the camping associations.
Lucas Hartford, President of Evergreen, attended the event on the behalf of Evergreen USA. “We had a very energetic group of people in attendance representing state associations from New Jersey, Vermont, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Maine, Connecticut, Tennessee, New York, Massachusetts, North & South Carolina and Maryland. We also had representation from the Northeast Campground Association and National ARVC. It is a great group of people who work hard to improve their skills to better serve their members. It’s great to see these people working so hard to improve their camping associations,” said Lucas.
